F.E.L.T. is Manatee County’s original backpack program, designed to help put an end to child hunger. The organization is dedicated to feeding Manatee County’s most needy, or homeless and food-insecure students, one backpack at a time. While these children typically receive free breakfast and lunch at school, they’re often not sure where their meals will come from when they go home on the weekends.
On Fridays, F.E.L.T. provides each of the students enrolled in the program with a backpack filled with nutritious foods to hold them over until they return to school on Monday. Each time you purchase a roof from Blue Collar Roofing, we’ll donate a percentage of the cost to F.E.L.T..
Our goal is to donate a total of $500,000 in the first five years. This the amount needed to feed all of the children currently in their program for a full year. In addition to our annual commitment, we’re also providing hands-on help by assisting with packing backpacks, holding food drives at our office and other private events, and more.
2024 We donated $3250 to Breast Cancer Awareness and raised $4250. Roofers wear pink!
